Why should you leverage social media for your business? Social media presents a huge opportunity to help build and support your company or brand and create awareness with your target audiences. According to a MarketWatch survey, 75% of adults (more than 5 billion people) are regular users of online social media. That means that the vast majority (if not all) of your customers can be reached through social online efforts.
Social media has a relatively low barrier to entry. If you have an account on Facebook, you should be able to start an official brand page for your company or organization. If you have an email address, you can register for a Twitter account and begin using it immediately.
What social media allows you to do is to build genuine and personable interactions with your customer base. You have the opportunity to build expertise, credibility, and trust, get immediate and actionable feedback, and establish relationships with your target markets.
